Continuation of the Paul Pritchard will. Completes the bequests to Aphra Ann Eve and her heirs, gives William a second East Bay lot, names a survivor-shares clause for the four children should Paul Jr. die under age, and instructs the executors to settle accounts with Oswell Eve over a Lynches Creek tract.
Will continues onto document 5.
This page names all four Pritchard children in a single survivor-shares clause and thereby resolves the family’s structure as the album partially recorded it. The four children of Paul Pritchard the shipbuilder are: William Pritchard (the son who inherits Hobcaw — the “Hobcaw Bill” of family tradition); Paul Pritchard Jr. (then a minor, the future husband of Catherine Hamilton per page 024); Aphra Ann Pritchard (m. Oswell Eve — the same Oswell Eve who founded the Cottage burial ground near Augusta where Christopher FitzSimons the emigrant and his wife Catharine were later interred); and Catharine Pritchard (m. Christopher Fitzsimons the emigrant). The Lynches Creek tract that Oswell Eve is to receive in fee simple from the executors is in the Pee Dee region of South Carolina, an early Eve family holding.
