Saturday
Dearest light Brown,
Happy Birthday — yesterday! I didn’t think about you on the 4th — meant to send you something the third I got inside of a store — Other than grocery!
I enclosed valentine from June — they never stop talking about you all.
Sues + her friend, Margaret James, are here in an apt on the north side of town. Stuart is expected later.
Bo + S.S. going to [illegible] Sunday week (about 15th. I think) for Surf meeting. Wish I could come but the 3 days at $8.00 per day too steep.
Am writing this on my lap while waiting for Bo to bring car. Promised Nancy to wash [or write; uncertain] some today.
Do hope your S.C. visit was enjoyable tho I know the sadness you must feel. Even I felt a personal loss — tried to make Pauline go up but she wouldn’t. I offered to keep Rollie + [illegible]. Please write me how you are etc. As for me am overworked + underpaid, at present + in charge of getting out 100,000 letters for Easter seals — on Roselind luncheon committee next week — She’s giving valentine party at school for Nancy’s room. In between I work crossword puzzles to [illegible] + remain sane. I do so love you — seem to miss you more all the time — Take good care of yourselves; your

AI Notes
A single-sheet letter on thin cream paper, written in faded blue ink in a flowing cursive that is partly indistinct against the back-bleed of writing on the verso. Headed only ‘Saturday’ (underlined) at the upper right. Opens ‘Dearest light Brown’ (a family nickname). Wishes a belated Happy Birthday, encloses Valentines from June, and reports on family travel, a Surf meeting Bo is attending, and committee work on an Easter seals letter campaign. Signed ‘Aunt P—’ (rest of the name is a flourish; identity not established by the page itself).
