The clipping carries a head-and-shoulders studio photograph of a young woman captioned ‘Miss Mary Ann Walker’ above a Jacksonville-paper article announcing three young women joining the debutante coterie for the winter season — two introduced in Jacksonville (Anthony and Peyton) and Mary Ann Walker introduced in her former home, Savannah. Jacksonville is the publishing city.
Mary Ann Walker is the daughter of James Pickens Walker and Amy FitzSimons (the compiler); the family had recently relocated from Savannah to Jacksonville.
