Leave Your Thumbprint in Time
IF YOU DON’T, WHO WILL?
100 years from today, what will people know about you? Probably little, unless you write it down! And unless that writing is preserved in a book, that too may be lost!
HERE’S THE SOLUTION: WRITE IT DOWN! THE STORY OF YOUR FAMILY HOUSEHOLD! It’s simple. Send us your story of 500 words or less and one picture (if possible). Your story must be typewritten, double spaced. You may send more than one picture, these will be used on a space available basis. Please indicate first, second, and third choice in case all of them cannot be used. We make every effort to return photographs, but due to the number of times they will be handled, it would be best to send copies of any valuable or irreplaceable photos.
THERE IS NO FEE FOR HAVING YOUR STORY (500 words) AND ONE PICTURE PUBLISHED, AND YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO BUY A BOOK!
If you are living in, or have previously lived in Barbour County, we want your Family Household History. In writing your story, be sure to include the area in which you live or lived. Write about special family things, include pioneer tales, and current activities. (refer to the sample stories on the reverse side of this page). Write your story as if telling future generations about your family and your ancestors.
In addition to family stories, we will be gathering stories and pictures about Barbour County schools, churches, organizations, businesses and others.
WE MUST HAVE YOUR STORY AND PICTURES BY MARCH 30, 1979, SO DON’T DELAY!
Send to: Barbour County History Book Philippi, W. Va. 26416
If you have any questions, please contact any of the book committee members listed at left.
