AI Notes

A large fold-out chart, the front side of a single broad sheet folded into the album. Headed ‘PERRY’ in capitals at the upper left. A free-hand pedigree in light pencil and blue ink showing many generations of the Perry family descending from a first ‘Edward Perry’ (m. Rosamond Miles 11 Dec 1723) at the top to late-19th- and early-20th-century descendants along the bottom, with collateral branches (Bowles, Tilden, Drayton, Mauger, Bessellieu, Howell, FitzSimons) bracketed in by curly braces. A long handwritten note in the upper-right corner attributed at the bottom to ‘Joseph Door Waring’ summarizes the family’s earliest Barbados settlement c. 1680. The chart is closely written in places; most of the family-line spine has been transcribed, though many of the marginal first-generation collaterals remain only partly legible.

Many of the small collateral-line entries — especially the leftmost lower band, the William Hayne / Esther Dawson / Sally Simmons cluster — remain partly illegible because of the pencil’s faintness and the pre-existing folds running through that quadrant. The chart identifies Mary Ann Perry “Minnie” FitzSimons as Amy’s mother and Benjamin Dunkin Perry as her uncle, and gives the compiler’s aunt’s name as Amy (her own namesake).
