AI Notes

Typescript copy, second page of the will of Ann Drayton Perry. Page numbered ‘#2’ at upper right; ‘789’ written in pencil at corner. Page continues bequests, distributing sterling plate, mahogany furniture, household goods, jewellery, and named enslaved persons (Auba, Susette, Becky, Ransom) among her grandchildren Anna Rebecca Drayton Perry, Mary Susan Perry, John Drayton Perry, and Edward Bowles Perry. Includes content typical of an antebellum South Carolina will; transcribed literally for archival fidelity. The opening line reads ‘of my son Edward D. Perry,’ and the maid servant bequeathed to Anna Rebecca Drayton Perry is named Auba (distinct from the grand-daughter Anna Rebecca, to whom Auba was bequeathed).
