AI Notes
A printed pedigree / family-group worksheet, filled in by hand in blue ballpoint, listing seven generations of direct ancestors leading from the subject Nancy Fletcher McEwan (b. 13 Sept 1946, Orlando — a generation older than the previous transcription assumed) back through the McEwan / Walker / FitzSimons / Perry / Drayton lines to Edward Perry and Anna Drayton in the 7th generation. The Generation 1 header is cropped at the top edge of the sheet — Nancy’s name and the second line (her husband Theodore Robert Green) are nearly complete. Each generation lists husband and wife with birth/death dates and places, marriage date and place, and a ‘References’ column at the left noting the documentary sources (Bible records, certificates, etc.). A footer note cites a 1921 Pennsylvania Genealogical Society publication for the Perry family tree.
Editorial note: the sheet conflates two generations of Perrys. Edward Perry the Younger (Gen 6 on this chart; testator of the 1797 will on p. 609, d. 2 June 1800 age 26) was married to Ann Drayton — not to Maria Ann Mauger. His widow Ann Drayton Perry is the 1830 testator of the will on pp. 612–618; that will explicitly names Maria Ann Mauger as the “intended wife” of their son Edward D. Perry (the next generation down, B. F. D. Perry’s father). The chart’s entry of Maria Ann Mauger as Gen-6 wife therefore belongs one generation later. The Generation 5 wife’s full given name resolves on enhancement to Julia Virginia Bessellieu (her death is recorded under “Julia Virginia Perry” in the church records). The compiler Amy FitzSimons (Mrs. James Pickens Walker) is Generation 3; her daughter Mary Ann Walker McEwan is Generation 2; granddaughter Nancy Fletcher McEwan is Generation 1. The sheet was prepared no earlier than the 3 Feb 1968 marriage and no later than 1969 (Mary Ann Walker still recorded as “Living 1969”). It was filed as part of Nancy’s own Colonial Dames application (C.D. Papers #220 in Mrs. O. B. McEwan’s name).
