Album page with four items mounted in a loose grid. Upper left: a printed wedding announcement on cream stationery for the marriage of Margarita Consuelo FitzSimons to Donald McKay Allston, Hendersonville, June 21, 1947 (Margarita is the daughter of Frank Lockwood FitzSimons Sr. of Hendersonville; Donald McKay Allston Jr. is the compiler Amy’s first cousin’s son — so this wedding is the cousin marriage tying the Charleston Allston branch to the Hendersonville FitzSimons branch). The engraved spelling on the wedding card is ‘Fitz Simons’ (two words) but consolidated to canonical ‘FitzSimons’ in metadata. Upper right: a small note in blue ink on the back of a folded mailer reading ‘Photographs to be mounted in book.’ Center right: a two-part newspaper clipping dated in pencil ‘Jan. 10, 1974’ headlined ‘Frank FitzSimons Named To Post at Northwestern,’ with a head-and-shoulders portrait captioned FRANK FITZSIMONS, JR. Lower left: a small radio-program advertisement clipping announcing the WHKP daily broadcast ‘FRANK L. FITZSIMONS, SR., SPEAKS / 6:05 P.M. TO 6:10 P.M. / Monday through Friday / Beginning Monday, December 10 / Sponsored by STATE TRUST CO.’ This is the launch ad for the radio series that ran for decades and became the basis of FitzSimons Sr.'s book ‘On Banks of the Oklawaha’ (cf. p572).
