AI Notes
A loose worksheet in blue cursive, listing the marriage of Mary Ann FitzSimons (b. 30 Sept 1899 — the compiler’s sister ‘Minnie’) to Donald McKay Allston (b. 9 Aug 1884), m. 3 Nov 1920. Their eldest daughter Amy Perry Allston (b. 22 Aug 1921) is shown married 16 May 1946 to Henry Burnett Fishburne, with two sons. The same family group is restated lower on the sheet, suggesting the page was the compiler’s working draft — the first attempt mis-paired Amy’s name with her son Henry’s 1948 birthdate, and the compiler caught the slip and restated below. The word ‘over —’ at the lower right indicates the entry continues on page 397. The family surname is Fishburne (rendered ‘Fishbourne’ on the parallel p350 worksheet), matching the wedding clipping on p361 and the Charleston obituaries. The page-396 worksheet records Donald McKay Allston’s birth as Aug. 9, 1884; the parallel p350 worksheet has Aug. 7, 1889 — different drafts in the compiler’s hand.
The worksheet continues on page 397 (its verso), where the compiler enumerates the next two Allston children — Amarinthia Theodora and Donald McKay Jr. The Fishburne family is treated more fully on pages 350–353, including the wedding clipping for Amy Perry Allston’s 1946 marriage to Henry Burnett Fishburne at Willtown Bluff plantation.
