A continuation page of the handwritten letter, 1874 Barker family death cluster. The writer (most likely Susan Milliken Barker) lists the friends who came to the house and the church for the funeral of Mother (Ellen Milliken Barker); describes how Tody, Thomas and Wm came up and took the coffin from Mother’s room downstairs; how Mr & Mrs Huger and Ella arranged the flowers on the coffin and at the church; and how Mr. Miles met the Bishop, who took part in the service. Father’s and Sam’s graves were also adorned from the same flower basket. ‘Tody, Thomas & Wm came up’ lists the three people who carried the coffin upstairs: Tody (Theodore Gaillard Barker), Thomas, and William.
