Pencil block printing in a child’s hand on ruled notebook paper; the right column occupies only the top two ruled lines of the sheet, with the rest of the page blank apart from faint pencil show-through from the verso. The signature ‘Dee’ is written with a small flourish on the D, suggesting the writer is a Walker grandchild (NOT Emma Dee Walker Corbell, the adult middle daughter, who by the date of this letter was already a grown woman with her own children).

The note begins on p007 (‘Dear Gam thank you for the five dollars…’) and continues across p008 (whole-sheet view) and p009 (left-column close-up of this same sheet). The faint pencil show-through in the lower half of the page is the bleed of the earlier text from the verso.
