Proof

Property of

Dishinger-Woodward Studios

AI Notes

A large sepia-toned photographic print mounted to fill the album page, oriented sideways (the photo’s top is at the left edge of the page). The image shows a bride at center in a long white gown with cathedral-length veil, flanked by approximately ten attendants in matching long pale gowns, each carrying a bouquet. The group is posed in front of an arched garden trellis or arbor. The print is a studio proof: written into the lower right corner of the image in white grease pencil are the words ‘Proof / Property of / Dishinger-Woodward Studios.’ This proof belongs with the Mary Ann Walker / Oswald Beverley McEwan wedding (14 May 1941) documented on pages 187–188. The studio name reads ‘Dishinger-Woodward’ (the same Woodward credited as photographer in the Jacksonville debutante clipping on page 145, ‘Photographs of Misses Anthony and Peyton by Woodward’).

A studio proof photograph with no caption supplied by the compiler. Identification as the Mary Ann Walker / Oswald Beverley McEwan wedding party is editorial, based on adjacency to the engraved invitation and wedding photograph on pages 187–188.
