would be so nice if I could see you-all more often if you were nearer to me. Come again soon — you know you’re always welcome —

Not much news 'cause we’ve been so lazy — just playing casino at nights. Grand to state, the house-keeping so far has been mighty easy. The ham and avocados were a grand help! I’m sorry to say they’re gone now — even to stuffing peppers with the ham!

I’m furious with myself 'cause in my straightening up

Third page of the letter from Dee. Closing thoughts on missing her family and an invitation to visit, then a domestic vignette: she and her husband have been playing casino in the evenings, the housekeeping has been easy, and a gift of ham and avocados from her mother (or stuffed peppers made with the ham) was a ‘grand help.’ Written in graphite pencil on the same notepaper. The page breaks mid-sentence: ‘in my straightening up’.
