AI Notes

A blank pre-printed check from the Carolina Savings Bank of Charleston, S.C., signed in advance by Minnie P. FitzSimons but with payee, date, and amount left empty. This is almost certainly the ‘signed blank check’ described in her letter of April 5, 1933 (pages 094–096), enclosed for her daughter Amy to use if Minnie should fall seriously ill or die. The check bears the printed routing fraction 67-5/5 at upper right and the bank’s circular monogram seal as a background watermark. American Bank Stationery Co., Balto. imprint at lower left in small type. No marginalia.
