A lined-paper album page with two studio photographs of the compiler as a young child.

Right (large cabinet photograph): A small girl, perhaps three or four years old, in a long white dress, standing in front of a tasseled velvet armchair. The body of a mandolin rests on the seat of the chair beside her; she clasps its neck with one hand. The photographer’s imprint at the lower edge of the mount reads:

Leidloff’s Studio 251 King St. Charleston, S.C.

Left (smaller faded print): A card-mounted print, much faded and dog-eared, of a young girl in a fancy ruffled dress and a wide hat, with a corsage or ruffles at the bodice. The features are nearly washed out by light damage. Possibly a later portrait of Amy herself.

Caption in pencil to the right of the smaller print:

Amy Perry Fitz Simons

AI Notes

An album page (lined paper, three-hole punched) with two mounted studio photographs of the compiler as a young child. Right: a large sepia cabinet card showing a small girl, perhaps three or four years old, standing in front of a tasseled velvet chair (the body of a mandolin rests on the chair seat as she clasps its neck) and wearing a long white dress. The photographer’s gilt imprint at the lower edge of the mount reads ‘Leidloff’s Studio’ in script, with ‘251 King St. / Charleston, S.C.’ in block capitals beside it. Left: a smaller, much-faded card-mounted print of an older child or young girl in a fancy dress with ruffles and a wide hat — possibly Amy a few years older. Between and below the two prints, a single ink caption in the compiler’s later hand: ‘Amy Perry Fitz Simons’.
