AI Notes

An album page assembling four items, all relating to Mary Ann Walker McEwan and her three children. Upper left: a triangular fold of lined notebook paper inscribed in pencil ‘I love you / from G— who / in these places’ on the outer face and ‘To Mother’ on the inner triangle, with the signature ‘from Jim’ in pencil at the lower right of the outer face — identifying the writer as James Walker McEwan (‘Jim,’ b. 25 Apr 1949), one of Mary Ann’s sons. Lower left: a cream envelope addressed in blue ink to ‘Mrs. Mary Ann, 1129 South O[sceola], Orlando, Flor[ida]’ with the return address ‘Box 329, Columbia Falls, Mont. 59912’ (Christopher G. McEwan’s address — Jim’s brother). Upper right: a clipping from the Sentinel Star, Orlando, Friday, February 23, 1979, page 12-D, reporting Pan American Bank of Orlando’s new board members and vice presidents — James W. McEwan is named among the new vice presidents (commercial loan officer); his name and title are underlined in red. The clipping’s ‘Bel-/beck’ is broken across a column, hence ‘Helen M. Belbeck’. Lower right: a printed cream folder titled ‘University of Central Florida’ bearing the university’s Pegasus seal — the cover of the commencement announcement that opens on page 437. The date_range extends back to the 1960s to cover Jim’s childhood note (Mary Ann d. 1975, so terminus ante quem for the note).

The cover of the commencement announcement; the inside is on page 437.
