Oval studio photograph of mother and infant, with envelope listing enclosed Walker/FitzSimons certificates

Album page bearing three items: (1) at upper center, a long pale envelope inscribed in blue cursive listing its enclosed documents — the birth certificate of Amy Perry FitzSimons, the certification of marriage of Amy FitzSimons and J. P. Walker, and the death certificate of J. P. Walker (the death certificate is the photostat mounted opposite, on page 379); (2) at left, a sepia oval studio portrait of a young dark-haired woman in a high-necked dark dress, seated, holding a fair-haired smiling infant on her lap, the photograph foxed and the oval mat torn and worn at the upper edge; (3) at lower left, a small white envelope addressed in brown cursive to ‘Mr. & Mrs. J. P. Walker, 3698 Hedrick St., Jacksonville, Florida.’ Right two-thirds of the leaf blank. The unidentified studio portrait is almost certainly Amy FitzSimons Walker with one of her children — placed deliberately on the same leaf as the envelope cataloguing her birth/marriage and her husband’s death papers. The lower envelope reads ‘3698 Hedrick St.’ (the page 318 envelope has ‘3648’ — both addresses appear in the album, with 3698 also recorded on the J. P. Walker death certificate at page 379 as the place of death). The date range reflects the apparent age of the child (a toddler) and the period of Amy and J. P. Walker’s young married years — they married 20 October 1908; their firstborn was a daughter, Amy Perry ‘Buzzie’ Walker (b. 20 March 1910, d. c. May 1911), and their elder son James Pickens Walker Jr. was born 5 January 1912.

The street number “3698” matches the address recorded as the place of death on James Pickens Walker Sr.'s death certificate at page 379; the cover-envelope at page 318 has “3648” — both forms appear in the album.
