on Bovinine when he has a spell of Asthma too bad to allow of his eating his meals. They have a Parrot & a little dog still. He lately lost a very fine riding horse, one that suited him in every way, & he says “I am too old to ride any kind of thing to be picked up, I must have a good horse.” When Dr. Miles was here lately Dr. Huger sent the horse every day for Dr. Miles to ride, & when Hannah Smythe in writing mentioned the death of the horse Dr. M— wrote a letter to Dr. H— saying he must write his sense of loss in their friend “Fox” — so the two old gentlemen had what Kate calls “sentiments” — which are refreshing in a way. “Bunny” (Anna) Huger was married last Thursday to Henry Carrere — & they have gone on a tour & will be in Virginia. Mr. Carrere is very much liked in society, & well thought of in business, is “well to do” & has pretty sisters — Bunny is a decided little woman, something
